Our certified providers, Dr. Alexandra Przybylo and Brooke Saunders, CPNP, have a special interest in providing lactation consulting services to our new mothers who may be experiencing difficulties with breastfeeding. Breastfeeding isn’t always easy for every mother, and most new moms could use some advice in this area.

They can help determine the issue at hand and give you suggestions that help address the breastfeeding difficulties. Potential problems include incorrect latching, inability to latch, painful latch or feedings, improper positioning or holds, inverted nipples, and ineffective transfer of milk. They can also help with pumping concerns and breast milk storage. If you feel that you would benefit from further assistance, we can also refer you to Best Beginnings, a local company that specializes in assisting mothers with breastfeeding concerns.

If you would like to schedule an appointment with them for lactation assistance, please call our office and request a 45-minute consult when making the appointment. It is helpful to schedule the appointment, if possible, during a regular feeding time so they can assess any issues while you feed your baby in the room. Breast milk provides the best nutrition for your infant, and breastfeeding can be an enjoyable and rewarding experience once it is mastered.
